Community Involvement

For over 54 years, the Clusiau family has been a very proud Community Supporter and Sponsors of many quality causes, projects, and events in the Northland!

Northland High School Alternative Fuel Project



In January of 2012 we were approached by Mrs. Kitchenhoff's General Science and Chemistry Class from Northland High School, located in Remer, MN. They presented us with an opportunity to help them out with a donation of a vehicle that they could use for their upcoming Alternative Fuel Project. The project entailed the students redesigning a vehicle to run on wood smoke technology. They hope to produce a vehicle that is capable of getting more than 200 MPG!

With their school being located midway between our two stores, Tom Clusiau's Chrysler Dodge Jeep GMC and Tom Clusiau's Walker Ford, we were very happy to help them out and donated a Red 1998 Ford Ranger that would fit the criteria they needed. The students wrote an article on their engineering project, which was published in several local papers including the Grand Rapids Herald Review, The Pilot in Walker, MN, Longville's Pine Cone Press, and the Northland Press.

We are particularly proud of our participation in Chrysler's "Drive 4 the Kids" events. This wonderful program gives us the opportunity to help Northern Minnesota schools raise funding to help support their various programs and activities.
